The octavo volume, labelled "Summary. Vol. II," is a record of the claims presented by British creditors in November 1798, with notations of responses by the Commission through 1799. The volume is indexed. The folder contains notes and reports arranged into the following cases: Rev. Charles Inglis, Strahan & McKenzie, Daniel Delaney, and Cunningham & Company. There are also a few general orders, a series of nine cases for which there is only one document per claim, and miscellaneous minutes and resolutions.

Griffith Evans was bon in Warwick, Chester Co., Pa. During the American Revolutionary War, he served as clerk in the medical corps of the Continental Army. After the close of the war, he was appointed secretary and storekeeper of the Pennsylvania commissioners who represented the state at the negotiations with the Six Nations nations at Fort Stanwix and the Wyandots, Delawares, Ottawas, and Chippewas at Fort McIntosh (January 1785).
